single station data time averages

Dear all,
I have been working with some time series files made by automatic stations.
i have converted the standard output into something grads can read and am
able to draw the time series successfully. however, since the data are 10
minute there is too much of them and i want to average them over some
larger period (1 hour or i don't know what). the problem is that no time
averaging functions work. i have tried stnave but it is asking for varying
latitude and longitude and i have only this one station to plot. does
anybody know how to average a since station time series?
