Hi, Joe ?
The controls for axis labeling do not work the same way when the axis contains dates/times. Numbers are much easier to format. I don?t know anything about axis.gs, but you can try using ?set xlabs? to set the labels to be anything at all, labels that have no bearing whatsoever on the data in the plot. Try ?set xlabs Jan|Feb|Mar|Apr|May? and you?ll see what I mean. The other option is to use 'q gr2xy? to figure out where on the page the label belongs and then use ?draw string? to place the labels one at a time.
My search led me to: http://www.jamstec.go.jp/frsgc/research/iprc/nona/GrADS/set-axes.html where I found that I can use set xlpos 0 t for the top side etc. This works fine. However, when I set time for the display of my variable, set xlpos 0 t does not work. I read elsewhere, that I need axis.gs to do this. Does anyone have this script or an easier way to do this? This might be a simple fix but I would really appreciate some guidance.
