This is my 2nd attempts:<br>
<br>
I am trying to use gribmap on ctl files that I was able to create with<br>
g2ctl. I am able to successfully create the ctl file, but when I run<br>
gribmap on the ctl file, I get this message:<br>
<br>
Data file type invalid<br>
--> The invalid description file record is:<br>
--> dtype grib2<br>
The data file was not opened.<br>
<br>
Gribmap successfully works and I am able to open up regular grib1 files,<br>
but not for grb2 files. I have also download and built some of the<br>
libraries that may be needed such as jasper and zlib.<br>
<br>
Any help would be greatly appreciated.<br>

Hi, Joseph ?<br>
It sounds like your build is not enabled to handle grib2. The libraries you need are:<br>
<a href="ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/zlib-1.2.8.tar.gz" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/<wbr>Supplibs/2.1/src/zlib-1.2.8.<wbr>tar.gz</a><br>
<a href="ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/libpng-1.5.12.tar.gz" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/<wbr>Supplibs/2.1/src/libpng-1.5.<wbr>12.tar.gz</a><br>
<a href="ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/jpegsrc.v6b.tar.gz" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/<wbr>Supplibs/2.1/src/jpegsrc.v6b.<wbr>tar.gz</a><br>
<a href="ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/jasper-1.900.1-14ubuntu3.2.debian.tar.gz" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/<wbr>Supplibs/2.1/src/jasper-1.900.<wbr>1-14ubuntu3.2.debian.tar.gz</a><br>
<a href="ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/Supplibs/2.1/src/g2clib-1.6.0.tar.gz" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">ftp://cola.gmu.edu/grads/<wbr>Supplibs/2.1/src/g2clib-1.6.0.<wbr>tar.gz</a><br>
<br>
Guidance for building these libraries is at <a href="http://cola.gmu.edu/grads/gadoc/supplibs.html" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">http://cola.gmu.edu/grads/<wbr>gadoc/supplibs.html</a>. But if you use one of the pre-compiled binary releases from <a href="http://cola.gmu.edu/grads/downloads.php" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">http://cola.gmu.edu/grads/<wbr>downloads.php</a> instead of trying to build from source your life will be much easier.<br>
