I don't know what<br clear="none">software to use to read it. Is it an image? Is it code?<br clear="none"><br clear="none">Anyway, the most likely reason you're seeing a "shift" is because you have<br clear="none">mis-specified the PDEF, XDEF, or YDEF entries in your control file (I<br clear="none">presume you are using a control file rather than using sdfopen to read the<br clear="none">data in Grads). This is causing a projection error.
