Thanks for all of your very helpful comments. I solved the problem
by concatenating the two files together using ncrcat (uwnd.2013.nc
and uwnd.ltm.nc). Then, I set the dimensions and did the following
difference:<br>

<p class="MsoNormal">define uwnd2 = aave(uwnd-(uwnd(t+258), lon=-70,
lon=-20,
lat=0, lat=30)<br>

I did 258 days because that's how many days were available for
computation in 2013 so far. <br>
