Dear Ricardo,

Yes, I did as like as you explained. I am in doubt, maybe I have to do it again. I have a question; the source fnl file has a size of 23 MB, but after converting it to a ctl and an idx file, each of them has a size of just seven kb, is it correct and acceptable? I think maybe the converting process has not been done correctly.

Regards,

T.

>
> Hi People (Jeff, Saulo, T., others),
>
> T., please, could you check your .ctl file for the dset line?
> In the q file command, the output for the line:
>
> binary: E:/blablabla
>
> should be the name of the binary file (that is, the grib 1 file: fnl_20081112_18_00_c), not the .idx name file.
>
> The .idx has to be created with the gribmap command, outside the GrADS and before running GrADS:
>
> gribmap -i filename.ctl
> ?
> This command will CREATE an index file.
