I was saying this because it looks that all other softwares are capable doing this (like NCL, Matab). The PDEF option is in that direction (many projections as well). I think this is doable.

--- On Fri, 8/3/12, Eric Altshuler <ela@cola.iges.org> wrote:

From: Eric Altshuler <ela@cola.iges.org>
Subject: Re: [gradsusr] Map for WRF native grid
To: "GrADS Users Forum" <gradsusr@gradsusr.org>
Date: Friday, August 3, 2012, 3:22 PM

Given the (literally) infinite number of possible WRF native map projections (e.g. Lambert conformal with arbitrary standard latitudes other than 30/60 degrees), this is not possible. You can certainly specify the _data_ projection with great generality (using PDEF statement), but that is separate from the map that GrADS draws when displaying a field.

----- Original Message -----
From: "James Song" <littleho_song@yahoo.com>
To: gradsusr@gradsusr.org
Sent: Thursday, August 2, 2012 9:02:59 PM
Subject: [gradsusr] Map for WRF native grid

I tried so hard to find a better solution that can plot the map on WRF's native grid in GrADS.
I hope someone could solve the problem soon - if the map data is given by GrADS, this should be easier.

Another solution is to use a shape file, but you have to convert it.
