I use grib2ctl.pl and gribmap as well, but I use different flags. What does the -verf flag do in grib2ctl.pl? Also, I use the -e -i flags for gribmap instead of just -i.

Also, have a close look at your PDEF line and make sure you are using the exact same values for the projection as what is in the grib file. Use wgrib -V WRFPRS... to see what those values are (i.e., standard lat, center lon, etc).
Hello Jeff,

I just set manually latitude and longitude for GrADS map display,
little bit wider than WRF domain is, just to see exactly where it's
borders are and what exact shape it has.

Data set is grib output from wrfpost, ctl file is created by
grib2ctl.pl -verf wrfgribfile >wrf.ctl and then gribmap -i
wrf.ctl.

Something is wrong. It looks that GrADS is OK, because I can confirm
that same shift happens in Panoply software. So it is certanly issue
in wrfpost (i think) or in wrf. Probably not topic for this mailing
list, but still maybe someone will know the solution?

Thanks again,

Exactly which control file and data set are you using to plot
the land/sea mask in the attached image? You said you are
trying to display WRF output. The domain looks like you are
running over your own domain, but you said you plotted data from
the WRF NMM. This difference may cause the aberrant behavior.

Hello,

I have issues displaying WRF output in GrADS. The problem
happens because coordinate system in GrADS (or in WRF
gribs?) seems to be somehow misshaped. Attached image
clearly shows example of my issue. So on the image, in
color is plotted land/sea mask from WRF NMM grib file.
However, on the NorthWest part of domain, and on the
SouthEast part of domain, land/sea mask is tottaly out of
order according to GrADS coordinating system! As you can
see, Great Britain islands are moved in southwest
direction almost 3 degrees, and Greece/Turkey is moved in
northeast direction, and whole shape of domain is somehow
deformed.

I postprocess with wrfpost and then create ctl and idx
with grib2ctl.pl and gribmap and use
opengrads for display.

I'm currently unable to find why this missalignment as
described above happen. Is it problem in GrADS, WRF, or
postprocessor?

Thanks for any idea.
