Your hint does not lead to a change of the problem. The map gets
bigger or smaller by setting parea, but the contour labels remain
cut at the border of the map. <br>
Maybe i have to mention, that the contours are station data, drawn
with the oacres function.<br>
<br>
Is there a way to draw the contours in a smaller area than the map
border?<br>

<div>Is there a way to force grads to label contours at specific positions </div>
