Hello Grads users,<div><br></div><div>I want to compute EOF using the Matthias Munnich code<font face="'Times New Roman'" size="3"> (</font><a href="http://www.atmos.ucla.edu/~munnich/Grads/EOF/" style="font-size:10pt" target="_blank">http://www.atmos.ucla.edu/~munnich/Grads/EOF/</a><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman';font-size:12pt">). However, the installation instruction is based on the COLA build of Grads, but I'm using the Opengrads version. So the installation instruction on the said page as well as on a previous mail on this user-group (</span><a href="http://gradsusr.org/pipermail/gradsusr/2010-November/011765.html" style="font-size:10pt" target="_blank">http://gradsusr.org/pipermail/gradsusr/2010-November/011765.html</a>) does not apply in my case.</div>
<div><span style="font-size:10pt"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size:10pt">It's seems the major issue is how to deal with the User Defined Function included in the zipped file. Where is the "eofudf" supp!
osed to be installed in Opengrads, and how do I do that ? I tried placing it in the .../SupportData/tables or in ....../Scripts folder, but that doesn't work.</span></div><div><span style="font-size:10pt"><br></span></div>
<div><span style="font-size:10pt">I use opengrads v2.0.a9 on Linux (laptop and server). Windows is also an option but "eofudf.exe" fails to run when I tried it on Windows XP, also on Opengrads.</span></div><div>
<span style="font-size:10pt"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size:10pt">Is anyone out there using the code in Opengrads on Windows or Linux ? Please kindly share your experience(s) with me.</span></div><div><span style="font-size:10pt"><br>
</span></div></div></div></blockquote><div><br></div><div>The issue here is not COLA vs OpenGrADS releases of GrADS, but the fact that UDFs from grads v1.9 no longer works with GrADS v2.0. OpenGrADS has a mechanism for adding UDFs but no one has ported Matt's EOF package to open grads. If you are willing to use pygrads, there is functionality there to compute EOFs, see</div>
