Andrew,<br>I don't think you can define a new variable piecewise in Grads. I really wish you could, as I think that is the one big thing keeping Grads from being the best graphics software out there. I've wished I could do it many times. You'll have to find some other means of viewing that field.<br>

determine if there is 'enough' CAPE to support a severe thunderstorm given the
freezing level height in case anyone is wondering.</p>
