it is useful in two ways<br>
1. suppose if you want to display the vertically integrated picture in grads <br>
then <br>
ex:<br>
set lat 5 30<br>
set lon 70 85<br>
set t 1<br>
d vint(lev,uwnd,200)<br>
lev means it is the pressure level what you fixed. if u r not fixed then it will take 1000hpa. <br>
then run command it will plot the fig<br>
<br>
for getting values<br>
<br>
set t 1 <br>
d aave(vint(lev,uwnd,200),lon=70,lon=85,lat=5,lat=30))<br>
then you can value for the integration<br>
<br>

I have similar kind of problem as Abishek<br>
I have MISR monthly aerosol data files in (.hdf) format.<br>
When I try to open this in GrADS it shows the following error:<br>

ga-> sdfopen D:\jan.hdf<br>
*Scanning self-describing file: D:\jan.hdf<br>
gadsdf : SDF file has no discernable X coordinate.<br>

Could you please explain how to solve it?<br>
