I'm not aware of simpler approach, but, you can first set color to
green ('set ccolor 3' should do that) and plot only those barbs that
are under 2.5 m/s. Then, 'set ccolor 4' for blue, and plot only barbs
that are between 2.5 and 5 m/s. And so on until you make all plots. For
how to plot only barbs that are between two values, please, look at
thread with subject "Vector masking both minimum and maximum" from date
2008-09-04.<br>
