Dear Arlindo

I have searched the list, and none of them has a solution to this
particular problem of having an error message "NC_Unlimited in the wrong
index". All other Netcdf file display well when using ncdump on Windows XP,

Sorry I wasn't clear: I just meant about options to write ASCII, not this particular netcdf glitch. You need to give additional details about how you are actually opening this file; say send the output of "ncdump -c filename". Using the "open" interface to netcdf (rather than "sdfopen") gives you more flexibility with weird files. Check out the User's Guide for learning how to prepare a ctl for your netcdf file.
