<br>ga-> <br><br><br> As you mentioned it is better to read the nc data using fortran than converting it into grib. Actually what I wanted is the same as you said, that is to create plain sequential binary data files of the 17 level wind and then read using fortran. Thank you for the information and I will read the documentation of lats4d to involve more into that.<br>
