<div>The new grib2.gex extension for GrADS v1.9 that I posted last week allows you to use lats4d to convert grib-2 to grib-1, netcdf, hdf and binary. In fact, to be able to use lats4d with grib-2 was my main motivation for writing this extension. More information here:</div>

<div><strong>Important Remark about Lats4d Grib-1 Files</strong>: When creating grib-1 files, by default lats4d creates a fake LATS table that is good enough for using the file with GrADS. However, if you need a grib-1 file for another application that expects it to be 100% conformant with NCEP grib-1 files then you will need to create to create a LATS table by hand, usually modifying the one created by default.</div>
