<div>Lats4d, when used with GrADS v1.7-v1.9, will convert any GrADS readable format (except GRIB2) to GRIB-1. By default it automatically creates a fake LATS table, which can then be customized to conform to NCEP's conventions, for example. If you only want to use GRIB for its compression capabilities, the last step is not necessary.</div>
