[gradsusr] Script works to make a plot but interactive plot not working in Grads?

Hi Uma,

I encountered this too, and a workaround was to downgrade to XQuartz 2.8.4.  XQuartz 2.8.5 is the latest version, and it seems either to have a bug or simply is incompatible with whatever is needed by the GrADS GUI.

Dear Grads users,

I have installed GrADS 2.2.1 on a Mac OS running Sonoma (14.2.1). I have checked all my paths and the X11 Quartz path looks fine (X11 Quartz works with NCL just fine). But I am having a problem I have not seen before. I have attached two screen shots below. The first is what my x11 screen shows when I open a Ctl file and plot January 2022 NDVI values (data file spans from 50N-90N). The contour lines and the map do not show up but the contour numbers show up. If I write a short script to make this same plot and runt it, then I get the second screenshot. This looks just fine  when I write out the plot using gxprint to a png file.
Any suggestions? I can live with this and just write scripts to make my quick plots but it would be useful to be able to make quick plots without writing a script.
