[gradsusr] Extraction of point data from grd and ASCII file

I am attaching herewith a CTL file and data in .grd and ASCII format.
Kindly help me extract the data. i have installed open Grads in windows 64 bit. The CTL file doesnt open in Grads software. Where should i keep the data and ctl file? I have kept the ctl file and the data (.grd and ASCII) in Content>Resources folder> sample datasets
What code should i use to extract the data for a point location?
