[gradsusr] Can't open shared libraries on grads-2.1.1.b0

How does one solve the following, for the new verison of grads:
grads-2.1.1.b0?
I am running ubuntu 16.04 on a 32 bit platform.

grads: /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcrypto.so.10: version `libcrypto.so.10' not
found (required by grads)
grads: /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssl.so.10: version `libssl.so.10' not found
(required by grads)
