Itesh,
I think you just need to give a grads_name (something like alias) for your variable name:
tasmax=>tmax 0 t,y,x Daily Maximum Near-Surface Air Temperature [K]
In GrADS, just
'd tmax'
I hope this solve your problem.

Ricardo

| Dear Davide and Prof. Ricardom
| Thanks for the response and sorry for the delay in reacting to those
| answers. Actually, I have tried both options setting gxout to grid
| and setting xlint and ylint to the interval from ctl file. But it
| did not help.
| Here is a sample ctl file for your reference. I want to plot the
| grids from this file directly to plot output excuding the regualr
| 1.0 degree or 0.5 degree intervals.
| ---ctl file start---
| *
| DSET
| ^tasmax_day_CCSM4_historical_19700601_20101231_lon_56_84_lat_22_39.nc

| XDEF 22 LINEAR 57.500000 1.250000
| YDEF 18 LINEAR 23.089005 0.942408
| ZDEF 1 LEVELS 0
| TDEF 12989 LINEAR 12:00Z01jun1970 1dy
| TITLE
| tasmax_day_CCSM4_historical_19700601_20101231_lon_56_84_lat_22_39.nc

| VARS 1

| | possible with
|
| | "set xlint <new_interval>"
|

|
| | before displaying fields.
|
| | If it is not the case, so we do have to know if his xdef and ydef

| | | I don't know if this answer is what you were looking for,
| |
|
| | | to see exact grid you could use:
| |
|
| | | 'set gxout grid'

|
| | | | Dear All,
| | |
| |
|
| | | | I was trying to plot the exact grid info comming from a model
| | | | (CTL
| | | | file xdef/ydef). Currently grads just puts the standard xlint
| | | | and
| | | | ylint values.
| | |
| |
|
| | | | Is there any way I can avoid the standard intervals.
| | |
| |
|
| | | | Sorry if it is already discussed in the forum earlier.
