[gradsusr] smth9 segfault

Hi all,

I came across an interesting segfault today that seems to be related to the
smth9 function.  When I attempt to display a summation of several values
(62), it segfaults if I try to smooth the equation but if I do *not* smooth
it or if I use define to store the value, it works fine.  You can test this
by changing the value for case to: "smth", "define", or "raw" respectively.

Oh and obviously the "0" in the beginning of draw_str is pointless, it is
just a placeholder for this test case.
