[gradsusr] template question

Hi, Andrew — 
I used your descriptor, downloaded 3 files (for 1945-1947) from the server, ran gribmap, (with tdef changed from 816 to 36) and was able to display the first grid for each year without any errors. So, I’m not sure exactly what is going wrong for you. Perhaps your index file got corrupted or overwritten? One other thing to change in your TDEF entry — the start time should be 1jan1945 instead of 15jan1945. GrADS is happier with this initial time when using monthly data. Maybe that will make a difference.
