[gradsusr] GRIB-1/GrADS Diagnosis

Aaron,
I guess my first question is why does your control file have only 5 VAR
entries? I downloaded the same file and ran grib2ctl.pl on it and the var
list has 133 entries in the control file I got. Check your file size. On
the NOMADS site the file has a size of 115 MB. If yours is substantially
smaller, it could mean there was an error while downloading the file.

I don't generally use the file meso-eta-hi because I'm not sure what it
means, but what's weird is the contents are identical to those in the nam
directory, which I assume is 12 km NAM output.

Also, I see from your dset entry your file name is different than that on
the NOMADS server. How and why did it get changed? It's possible if someone
else had the file before you they may have manipulated it, and that may
cause the trouble.

Jeff
