[gradsusr] difficulty reading grib1 produced by WRF

Grib2ctl worked on my previous laptop but doesn't on my new laptop at all. Therefore I know it can work I just can't figure out what is broken now that I've switched to a new laptop. Directory structure is the same, wgrib is on my system path, the grib file is in the proper directory and is most definitely a grib file. The only thing that I can think is that somehow grib2ctl is being denied from creating a temp file on the C drive root directory on the new laptop.

Subject: [gradsusr] difficulty reading grib1 produced by WRF

I have had a lot of difficulty using WRF output produced in grib1 format. I usually get “entire grid undefined," though I have been able to read some of the data and visualize it to a limited extent. (I've attached some examples.)

I think that the data itself is maybe OK, but GRADS cannot understand it. If we can’t visualize the data spatially, we can’t interpret/use it.

Thanks!
