Hi Sylvia,

Its not necessary to create a .ctl. You can merge your 192 files into a
single file. Ensure you have Climate Data Operators (CDO)
<https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CEUQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.unidata.ucar.edu%2Fsoftware%2Fnetcdf%2Fworkshops%2F2012%2Fthird_party%2FCDO.html&ei=P0mRU5nYHfGa1AXW_4CoCA&usg=AFQjCNHUwY-kjKHHWpZNP0SzCffavonPmw&sig2=IrVV2I9GqEdSwnoIshm6JQ&bvm=bv.68445247,d.d2k>
installed
in your computer. Then use the command

'cdo mergetime *.nc'

Regards
Joshua
