[gradsusr] Plotting ASCAT data in GrADS

Hi all,

I've seen similar posts about this before, but I'm struggling to create a data descriptor file from an ascat data file (example data file attached).

I've read the following on the xdfopen command and had a go at creating a .ctl file, but I haven't had any success:

http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/gradcomdxdfopen.html

The variables I plan to use are 'wind_speed' and 'wind_dir'.

Attached is the output after running 'ncdump –h ascat_20140130_003300_metopa_37781_eps_o_250_2200_ovw.l2.nc'

The version of grads I'm running is 2.0.a7.1.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.
