Dear Smith,

You need to set levels based on your interests. For example:

    'set clevs -0 600 900 1200 1500 1800 2100 2400 2700 3000 3300'
    'set ccols 11 0 5 13 3 10 7 12 8 2 26 27'

The command above will produce a colorbar in meters - see the attached
topography plot. Instead, you should set the levels in km, and set the
colors as you wish to.
