[gradsusr] problem with subplot.gs

Hello All,

I am trying to use the script subplot.gs to make
a multi-panel plot.   I have the following files
in the same directory I am working:   parsestr.gsf,
parseopt.gsf, and qdims.gsf.  After opening a
file and setting the dimensions, I execute the
subplot command and get the following error:

[subplot info] Temporary directory is set to I/O Error reading script 
file: printenv
   Return code = 0, -1
mkdir: missing operand
Try `mkdir --help' for more information.
Error in close:  file not open
   File name = /subplot.ctl~
Open Error:  Can't open description file
[subplot info] Current setting is
  aspect ratio = 3.000.
  set clopts -1 -1 0.073
  set xlopts 1 4 0.094
  set ylopts 1 4 0.094
  set strsiz 0.115
DISPLAY error:  no file open yet

Any ideas on what may be going wrong?
