Dear Everyone,

Does anyone know how calculate the standard anomalies? [image:

I downloaded the Reanalysis data ---- daily data of geopotential
data between 1981 to 2012 from
http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/cgi-bin/db_search/DBListFiles.pl?did=32&tid=36240&vid=663.
It contains 31 files,

First, I combined the data between 1981 to 2010 using Climate Data
Operators (CDO) software. Then I calculated the mean and standard
deviation using CDO. Then I calculated sdσ using Grads software. sdσ = (X-
µ)/σ. And the results are as follows.

*The above figures are standardized anomalies, and the order is 14 July,
13 July, 12 July and 11 July 2012. I am thinking there are some wrongs,
Because I didnot considering the seasonal about 21-day. But I donot know
how to center the 21-day. *
*
*
* So, I want to ask you how to center the 21-day. And my grads script is as
follows.*
