Hi!
  Yes.  You can use if function in grads as follows
-------------------------------------------------------------

if expression
script record
endif
---------------
The script records following if
expression are executed if the
expression evaluates to a string
containing the character 1.
If the expression evaluates to 0, then the
script records in the if block
are not executed and the
script continues with record following endif.
