[gradsusr] Replace Values with Text

Is there a way to replace values with text in the legend or on maps?
For example, with Total Totals index that OpenGrads lets you calculate,
values >56 mean scattered severe storms.

Rather than saying 56 on the legend, I'd like to say "Scattered Severe
Storms" or an abbreviated version of that.
