By using the standard deviation formula (minus the average part), constant the longitude and level for example

set t 1 48

set lon 180
set lev 200

set lat -40 40

ave1=ave(sstk,t=1,t=48)
stdev2=sqrt(pow(ave1-sstk,2))

This however is not seasonal standard deviation.

Hi,

is there a way of plotting standard deviation as a time series. I am trying to plot a seasonal mean which I accomplished... now i want to draw a curve of +/- interannual variability. All that i see in the manual gives me a single number when i do the calculations. Thanks.
