Dear Dr. Wang or Kishore,
I also faced the problem of calculate average of a country, to be precise,
average of China, I tried your methods with a download shp file 'cnworld',
but at the second step, I pressed the 'Select Features' button, but there's
no response form meteoinfo. Is my data file wrong or there's any other
errors?
Looking forward to getting help~~Thank you very much!
Zhihong

By using the standard deviation formula (minus the average part), constant
the longitude and level for example set t 1 48 set lon 180 set lev 200 set
lat -40 40
ave1=ave(sstk,t=1,t=48)
stdev2=sqrt(pow(ave1-sstk,2))
This however is not seasonal standard deviation.

Hi Zhihong,
I am not sure but, you click Select Features then, click on *.shp in the
left side that you have chosen select on then you should see a yellow
rectangle, you click on it then the region you are interested and wait few
seconds.
Hope it is helpful,
Cheers,
Kishore
