Do you know if is it possible to draw maps with current data and how?
Is it possible to do an special current data file for grads and with which
format?

I am working with windows and have the latest version of Grads

I'm not trying to download large files. I'm trying to get this server:
http://nomad1.ncep.noaa.gov:9090/dods/
This server in my region is not working for two months. I'm trying to
achieve in other ways the data I was getting from this server, I am
tracking data
of maximum and minimum, and the monthly averages of different variables on
different levels in the atmosphere,And I do it on a specific point of
longitude and latitude. Now because this server does not work I have to find
another place to get any data.
in The link you gave me I did not understand the examples there, where I
exactly need to write the commands listed there?.

avi,

If DODS times out because you trying to access a big chunk of data, you
can either

   (1) try to break up the calculation into smaller chunks
   (2) download the original data and do the calculation on your machine.
For the reanalysis data on nomad1, you don't have to download the
entire file,
you can download selected fields by "partial http transfers". See
the examples in

http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/wesley/fast_downloading_grib.html

Hello to all users of Grads.
Question: Does anyone know if it possible to obtain the averaging of the
month, minimum and maximum monthly, without getting into the server NCEP /
NCAR reanalysis. it does not work for a long time in my region.

Hi,

http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/ is multiple-location web site for
distributing
the various operational forecasts produced by NCEP.

  http://nomad1.ncep.noaa.gov/ncep_data and
http://nomad3.ncep.noaa.gov/ncep_data/
are handling:

   NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis (R1)
   NCEP/DOE Reanalysis (R2)

If you have problems with the DODS server on nomad1 or nomad3, you need to
contact Jordan.Alpert at noaa.gov.

   Wesley Ebisuzaki

Thank you all.
this Server at URL: http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/, is very helpful server to
make maps, cross sections humidity, etc. but the use of reanalysis is not
useful, because he does not have this service.

Thank you.
Even I was taking the 9090:from the URL, it still does not work, and I can
not connect to this server.
The mistake he writes: The server is taking too long to respond.

Take out the :9090 and make sure you're pointing to nomads1.

http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/data/gridded/data.ncep.reanalysis.surfaceflux.html
   i did
not find what I need: I need a monthly averages data of t300 ,t500 , t700
, t850 , t925 , t 1000 , h500 , h700 , h850 , slp , thickness 1000-500
,thickness 1000-850 These data I'm looking for.
in The link you gave me I noticed that there was nc files, how exactly
do I work
with those files?, How do I open them?.
