The product below is what we call a Level 2 swath product. It does follow CF-style conventions, but not those for a simple x-y geographic grid. Instead, there are separate latitude and longitude variables that match one for one the geophysical variables. Although it is possible to visualize the data in GrADS with some effort (i.e., using descriptor files), you would still not be able to see the data in a geolocated framework, that is, making use of the geolocated information in the file.

If you want a quick visualization of the AIRX2RET data, I suggest the Panoply tool (http://www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/panoply). An alternative is the Unidata Integrated Data Viewer (IDV) at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/. Both of these tools are able to visualize the AIRX2RET data on a map.

When i tried to open it in GrADS it shows followind error:gadsdf:SDF file has no discernable X coordinate. Is it possible to visulise AIRS converted netCDF data using GrADS ( eg:AIRS.2010.07.21.148.L2.QCSUBX2RET.v5.2.2.0.G10203132202.nc types of file).
