Jennifer,
I tried as suggested by you. But still could not fix it.
May be I did not correctly understood it. Still needs help while opening tke.mon.mean.nc.
Please.
Sincerely
Dimri

Hi Jeff,
Not sure if i've replied correctly (my first time on gradsusr).
I'm using the newest version: Ver0.03r1 (2010.01.04):
hatch-0.03r1.gs<http://kodama.fubuki.info/wiki/wiki.cgi/GrADS/script/hatch.gs?sw=download&file=hatch%2d0%2e03r1.gs&count_group=grads>
It draws some of the lines then says there is an error on line 356 when i
run it
Cheers,
Katherine

Katherine,
I don't know if I can help you with that. I don't use that script to
create hatching on plots. Also I just use the latlon projection when
hatching. I've never seen your particular version of the hatch script
before and the help menu even says to check whether the hatching is
correctly drawn. Since the script is so long, there could be a number of
reasons it's not working right. Perhaps someone else is more knowledgeable
with this script and could provide more help.

Hi, Katherine --
The drawing of stippling and cross hatching in GrADS is an undocumented feature, partially implemented, that only works with the X window interface. You will not be able to get any image or hardcopy output if you use these features. I have never heard of hatch.gs, so I can't answer any questions about it, but I would search for another way to show statistical significance. Contours on top of a shaded plot, using the shapefile interface to create stippling, or using gxout grid are some options. We are working on integrating a new graphics rendering package (cairo) into GrADS that will support semi-transparent colors, and pattern filling for this kind of application, but it is not ready yet.

This is not currently possible with GrADS. If you have an example of a KML file that shows a vertical cross-section in Google Earth, I'd like to see it. --Jennifer

You need a complete descriptor file (dtype netcdf) with a PDEF entry. Please have a look at the doc page in your error message as well as
http://iges.org/grads/gadoc/descriptorfile.html and http://iges.org/grads/gadoc/pdef.html .
