hi everyone!

this is my first post to this mailing list, i' ve been using grads for the
last two years
I use Grads to postprocess netcdf files containing results from a numerical
model.

I often use the shapefile option and then import the shp into QGIS.
i recently upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 and, after having installed Grads
Version 2.0.a9, I'm not able to generate shapefiles anymore...

Usually, I run Grads by a ".gs" script and ".ctl" control file, but I also
tried to do it by command line.
every time I run the display command (for instance the comand 'd myvar')
the program cracks.

the message* *I get is:
*** buffer overflow detected ***: grads terminated

...
and then I get a large list of files...

any idea of what could be happening?
I also saw an error message from the OS, so I'm not sure if the problem is
grads or the new ubuntu

i tried to change the spatial extent of the file (maybe it is too big), but
nothing changed

are there any recent changes in the code that could cause this failure?
anyone who has the same problem?
with the previous version and OS (I was using ubuntu 10.04 maverick)
everything was working properly

thank you very much for your help!!! :-)
