[gradsusr] help required in using "maskout" function in grads

You need some extra information, as you can't do all this from just one precipitation field.

You need to acquire or develop a land/sea mask on the same grid as the precipitation data - you could look around for a land mask from a model, or create one given some other dataset on land/sea distribution (e.g. look at ISLSCP II website, although there are dozens of other possible sources, and you will need something on the same grid as your precip).

i have only one variable of precipitation in the data. how can i make land and sea variables from it to mask the ocean area. plus the variable has positive values in the ocean area aswell
