[gradsusr] Frustrating RTMA

I have went at this every way I can see ...
last ditch effort was download the data from the NCEP
instead of using it from my NOAAport/LDM connection..
here is the out put of that

and what I'm using in my script

/usr/local/ldm/grads/bin/g2ctl.pl -0 lowres.bin > rtma.ctl

gribmap -0 -i rtma.ctl

I get the same result's no matter what file I use from the NCEP,
or if I remove the Analysis Error fields ..

I can get it to work, by adding another step
and have DeGRIB create individual .ctl/.flt files from the messages
but would rather figure out why it doesn't work this way
