[gradsusr] Need more options in the script function READ to read from a text file

Hello everybody,

I am writing a script and I need to read station coordinates from an .xml
file. I could use the READ function to access the data, but there are no
many options in this function to find the right fields inside the .xml
file.
Are there other options than those shown in the GrADS users guide?
Or should I modify the .xml file to a simpler format, to be red from my
GrADS script?
