Does any one has an example using shape file more precisely filling in regions with different colors like in shp_demo01.gs

Subject: [gradsusr] using shape file
Hi
I want to use shape file utility and I want to shade each polygon (region) with a different color. how to proceed ?
here is the output of my shape file :
ga-> q shp SEN_adm1

another question does anyone have the demo files, they are psswd protected : shp_demo?.gs
