Really, you always need to provide grads version and platform you are
running on for people to better help ypu. In this particular case, it
appears that you have not set you GADDIR environment variable set correctly
(assuming this is an installation based on COLA binaries). From COLA's
download page:
The font and map files are supplementary data sets that are required in
order to run GrADS. Their default location is:/usr/local/lib/grads/. If you
do not have write permission for this directory you can place the files
elsewhere, but you must also change the environment variable GADDIR so the
GrADS executables will know where to find these files. You can download the
data files separately by clicking here:
*data2.tar.gz*<ftp://grads.iges.org/grads/data2.tar.gz>
** <ftp://grads.iges.org/grads/data.tar.Z>.
cd *<dirname>*
tar xvfz data2.tar.gz
setenv GADDIR *<dirname>*
Now, if you have the opengrads bundle then you must have an incomplete
installation; try reinstalling it.
