The version of wgrib2 that came with 2.0.a9.oga.1 is very old (0.1.7.x).
You can either upgrade to 2.0.1.oga.1 (which has wgrib2 0.1.9.4) or else
get a more recent version of wgrib2. I am not sure this is the cause of
your problem, but I just wanted to point this out in case it has any
relevance.
