[gradsusr] how to use uv2trw function

in this function, the arguments ua, va are, i think zonal and meridional
components of winds. the radial and tangential velocity ie, the result of
the following

uv2trw(u,v,-1) and uv2trw(u,v,1)  are same. how to use it?  any body can
help me?
