[gradsusr] error while creating stnmap

I have been working on making a small list of station data available to work
with in grads. I use the template to create .dat file from website and have
had luck with it in the past. This appears to work well and create the .dat
file because I use print command to display the write commands. But then
when i run the stnmap utility i get this error:

'Invalid hdr found in station binary file' and it shows a longitude value in
the TIM column which is incorrect but there is no problem in my script.

I prepared my data in the exact same manner as in past cases so I don't see
what the problem is. Anyone have a suggestion?
