[gradsusr] time format

Dear all,

i have a problem with opening a file.
I use (GrADS) Version 2.0.a9 on Suse

ga-> sdfopen GKSS-2.nc
Scanning self-describing file:  GKSS-2.nc
gadsdf: Error parsing time_units for SDF file.

the format is as follows:
(from ncdump)

         double time(time) ;
                 time:units = "day as %Y%m%d.%f" ;
                 time:calendar = "proleptic_gregorian" ;
                 time:axis = "t" ;
                 time:long_name = "time" ;

So i think this is valid format? Can anyone tell my what is wrong?
