[gradsusr] average the grid

hello users,

i am a beginner for grads.
i am working on  satellite data.
i have wind components (U,V) satellite data of 0.25 grid, when i plot the
data it is soo clumsy not able to see the vectors.
so i want to average the data to 1x1 grid and plot.
can any one help me to give a script for average and plot the  data.
