I downloaded the latest grads from opengrads:

ga-> lats4d -i gxBC_all_0.nc -de mam3.nc -func re(@,144,linear,0,2.5,96,linear,-89.,1.925,bl)
Invalid QUERY argument: udc
WARNING: this build of GrADS v2.0.a9.oga.1 does not include the LATS option
WARNING: "-format grib" or "-format coads" are not supported.

ERROR: cannot proceed without LATS; try specifying a different -format

I think you need the opengrads version to do with:

Will this problem be corrected if I upgrade to the latest grads, or is there another workaround?
