[gradsusr] gds error

For a time series (inner-most dimension) query on GDS like:

/dods/NLDAS_FORA0125_H.002.APCPsfc.Y019.ascii?apcpsfc[0:278135][0:0][355:355]

we had the following error message in gds.log.  The time result came out 
corrupted (at some point jumped to a smaller value outside of the time 
range).  This happens now and then and not always.  What is causing it?  
Is the long time series (amount of data) a problem?
